Bachelet Expresses Support For Japan And "Repudiates" North Korean Military Threats

During the commemoration of 120 years of diplomatic relations between Santiago and Tokyo, the President reaffirmed her rejection of the "acts of force" promoted by the regime of Kim Jong-un.

The President received the Prince and Princess Akishino from Japan in La Moneda.

President Michelle Bachelet on Wednesday expressed her support for the Japanese government in the face of North Korea's successive military threats and acts of force amid the advance of its controversial nuclear program.
During the ceremony commemorating the 120 years of diplomatic relations between Santiago and Tokyo in the Palace of La Moneda, the Mandataria advocated that peace be not interrupted by the regime of Kin Jong-un.
Along with the Prince and Princess Akishino of Japan, the head of state said that "as I stated in the United Nations General Assembly a few days ago, Chile repudiates the acts of force and threat that North Korea has made to Japan."
"By the way, we will continue to work so that hopefully such situations do not happen again and peace in the world can be strengthened and consolidated," she added in the eyes of the members of the Japanese royal house.
